Foodie Friday: Popcorn Party!

We love popcorn, in fact we could eat it every night for dinner! We're always experimenting with new recipe ideas, so since Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend we thought it would be the perfect time to share our favorite creations!  Enjoy!  And if you need a tasty beer beverage to accompany your popcorn, try our savory Michelada!

Indian Popcorn:

Freshly popped unsalted popcorn
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 tablespoon Chat Masala (This tasty Indian spice can be found in many South Asian markets)

Add vegetable oil to popcorn and stir well.  Sprinkle Chat Masala over popcorn and stir well.

Chewy Toffee Popcorn:

Freshly popped unsalted popcorn
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon vanilla

In a medium saucepan melt butter.  Stir in sugar and salt.  Mix well.  Once thouroughly mixed, remove from heat and stir in milk and vanilla.  Pour over popcorn and stir well.

Mexican Popcorn:

Freshly popped unsalted popcorn
2 tablespoons Tapatio hot sauce
Salt to taste

Pour hot sauce over popcorn, add salt and stir well.  *Warning! This popcorn gets soggy if you let it sit for too long!

  2. Oh I love popcorn! I've never been brave enough to change it up - but I'm definitely going to try these recipes...soon, as soon as I'm feeling brave.
