Maraschino cherries are something that we can eat entire jars of in one sitting (well Flannery can, at least!) And with a lime tree in the backyard we decided to combine two of our favorite things with another favorite- champagne! For this cocktail we used those fluorescent red chemical bombs commonly called maraschino cherries, but in an effort to eliminate some Red #40 from our diets, we were inspired to make our own! Cherry Lime Champagne Cocktail
1 ounce maraschino cherry juice (from the jar)1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1 maraschino cherry (DIY post coming tomorrow!)
Zest of one lime
Champagne
Add cherry juice, lime juice and lime zest and to a champagne flute. Stir well and fill to the top with champagne. Garnish with a maraschino cherry!
