Drink This Wear That: Fall Edition

Ohhhh SNAP!!!  There's a chill in the air that can only mean one thing...time for some fall-themed cocktails!  And although we haven't tried it yet, the colors on the Snap bottle are perfectly autumnal (is that a word???).  We figured since Art of the Age, the company who makes Snap, also makes Root (see our Marga-Root-a recipe here), it's probably equally delish! According to their website, the organic gingersnap liqueur combines the flavors of black strap molasses with fresh ginger.  YUM!  Now on to the what to wear part... Orange and brown striped Burberry coat and furry Top Shop skirt anyone???  Happy fall!

Our Gingerbread Martini is Famous in Canada!

So we don't usually start the Christmas madness until Thanksgiving is over, but we just couldn't resist posting this holiday video by our favorite Canadian, Reb Stevenson over at Canada.com! Watch as she shows our friends up north how to get Fashionably Bombed on Gingerbread Martinis! Oh hellz yeah!

Gingerbread Martini

Makes 1

1/2 cup half and half
1 ounce vanilla vodka
1/2 ounce molasses syrup (to make this mix equal parts of molasses and water and bring to a boil, then let cool)
2 teaspoons cinnamon schnapps
1 teaspoon butterscotch schnapps
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
Ground cloves
Ice

Add everything but the cloves to a shaker and shake! Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a dusting of ground cloves and a homemade gingerbread man (DIY for him here!)

Want It Wednesday: Halloween Eyeballs!

We've been a little obsessed (a lot obsessed actually!) with eyeballs since we were little. Eyeball jewelry, eyeball candy, you name it, we had to have it.   So we've gathered a few of our favorite eyeball things for you just in time for Halloween!   Like this waaaay too realistic looking eyeball ring (#1) from Kimberly Klosterman.  What would a Halloween dinner party be without your (#2) coaster staring back at you? And who needs a Rolex when you can have an (#3) EyeRollex by ASOS? Stop! Eyeball Time! Always wanted eyes in the back of your head? Now you can have them anywhere on your head with this (#4) eyeball hair clip by Humans since 1982.  And those (#5) baby blues you've always wanted?  Well they'll just be on your ears instead of your face...Happy Halloween! Oh! And if you're looking for an edible eyeball, go here!

Welcome to L.A.!

It’s me, Katherine!  As I'm sure you've heard, I recently moved to L.A and (aside from Carmageddon 2 ;) I’ve been enjoying every moment of it!

There is just soooo much to explore in LA, from the beaches in Malibu, Santa Monica and Venice to Beverly Hills and Hollywood, to Silver Lake, Echo Park and Downtown LA!  Everywhere I turn I see so many new potential Fashionably Bombed photo shoot sites!

I’ve also been exploring new restaurants and new shopping spots (like this shop filled witpiñatas in Downtown LA).  And between working in the entertainment industry and driving through L.A. traffic, I've even had some time to make new friends and dj at few local spots!  I’ve also just started taking a Neon Class in Downtown LA (more on that later!)  Anyhow, it’s all brand new to me and I can’t wait to keep sharing my explorations with you!

Fashionably "Momed"

Hi! It's me, Flannery! Here to fill you in on the little "project" I've been working on all summer (since November actually!) Her name is Vivienne Lee and she's amazing! And in true Fashionably Bombed form, I bought myself a vintage bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate her arrival! Don't worry, this won't turn into a "Mommy" blog (that's a future project!) but we thought it was important to share why we've been off the radar for these last few months! Now you know what I've been up to- stay tuned for Katherine's post on Monday...

Want It Wednesday: Trina Turk Ice Buckets

We are never happy about the end of summer and we absolutely refuse to put our bright colors and prints away. The only thing that keeps us going is planning our winter Palm Springs getaway! And what says "Eff you winter!" better than a Fabulousi-tini on the rocks? Oh, I know! A gorge rocks holder from Trina Turk!

New Beginnings

As you may have noticed, we took a little break from blogging this summer.  We've had some pretty exciting life changes happen and we'll fill you in on all the details later this week, but to sum it up: Flannery had a baby and Katherine moved to Los Angeles!  Here's to new beginnings!

Sutter Home Cocktail Contest Winner!

We are so excited to have partnered up with Sutter Home to pick the winner of their most recent wine cocktail contest! There were so many tasty entries that it wasn't easy to choose, but we did it and the winning cocktail is DELICIOUS!!! We had a blast making this video because we not only got to announce the winner, but we also got to celebrate Women's Friendship Day with several of our friends from around the world! So without any further ado...

Melon Reverie by Karen Kuebler

6 cups seedless watermelon cubes
1 cup canteloupe cubes
1/3 cup fresh mint leaves (reserve several sprigs for garnish)
Juice of 1 lime
6 cups Sutter Home Bubbly Moscato, chilled

Place melon cubes, mint leaves, and lime juice in blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Stir in Bubbly Moscato. Garnish each glass with a mint sprig.

Alternatively, you can scoop melon into balls and add them to a champagne glass, add a squeeze of lime and chopped mint and top with Bubbly Moscato.

Jealous that Karen won and you didn't?  Go to Sutter Home's Facebook page so you can enter future wine cocktail recipe contests! You can also visit their blog and find them on Pinterest and Twitter!
