Taste Test Tuesday: Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics

As you all know from this post, we LOVE candy!  But our love of candy first started when our aunt Magda took us on a tour of the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield, California.  It was an experience that we never forgot, and still talk about to this day!  In fact, we went back a few months ago and felt like we were little kids all over again!

Today we're officially tasting Jelly Belly Cocktail Classics!  We've been wanting to try them forever, so when Flannery's mother-in-law gave her a bag, we ripped into it!

Results:

Strawberry Daiquiri: This was the only one neither of us liked. The chemical flavor is way too overwhelming!
Pomegranate Cosmo: Katherine really liked this flavor, Flannery thought it was OK.
Peach Bellini: We both agreed that this one was tasty, although it really just tastes like peach candy, no champagne...
Piña Colada: This flavor has been around forever and it has a nice punch of pineapple!
Mojito: This was definitely Flannery's favorite while Katherine thought it tasted like dirt.
Margarita: This was Katherine's favorite and she said that she could actually taste the tequila flavor!

It was a tough job, but somebody had to do it!

Want it Wednesday: Bright Purple Nail Polish!!!

We've become obsessed with nail polish colors ever since we started doing our DIY photos, which show close-ups of our hands.  We fell in love with Crush Worthy, a fluorescent orange shade right before Halloween, and our latest favorite is Plum Forgot, a splendidly bright shade of purple by Face Stockholm available at J.Crew.  This color will definitely add a punch of color to your fall/winter wardrobe staples, and looks especially fabulous with grey, plum, blue, metallic sliver and even our favorite color- GOLD!

DIY Tuesday: Meringue Cocktail Toppers

Meringue Cocktail Topper

Step #1:  Put on a sparkly blue vintage ring and paint your nails this GORGEOUS shade of purple!
Step #2:  Wrap your arms in vintage blue satin glass beads!
Step #3:  Take two eggs and separate the whites from the yolks, then beat the whites at high speed.  Add 1/8 teaspoon of cream of tartar and gradually add 1/2 cup sugar.  Continue to beat.
Step #4:  Once your egg whites form stiff peaks, your meringue is ready!
Step #5:  Place a large piece of parchment paper onto a baking sheet and draw out 6 circles (we used a mason jar lid). Make sure the circles are smaller than the rim of your martini glasses!
Step #6:  Spoon meringue mixture into a pastry bag with a large round tip (or a ziplock bag with one 1/2 inch corner cut off). Squeeze the meringue mixutre into circular shapes on your parchment paper.
Step #7:  Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes to one hour.  The longer you bake them the browner and crisper they will get!

Now for the fun part! Float them on top of our Lemon Meringue Pie Drop cocktails!
