Remember that Iced Coffee Cocktail that we made for our dad for Father's Day? Well what goes better with coffee than donuts??? Plus, being the sugar junkies that we are, we couldn't resist the opportuinty to get glammed up and run wild in a donut shop! I mean the pink boxes, the sprinkles, the yellow swivel chairs???
While we may be the only freaks on the planet who don't start the day with a cup of coffee (we use Coke for that!) our dad is a certified coffee lover. So in honor of Father's Day we invented a cool and refreshing morning treat just for him! And while coffee may not be our thing, we do love donuts! So much so, that we recently wreaked havoc on a local donut shop! (You'll have to stay tuned for those photos...)
Iced Coffee Cocktail
1/4 cup cream
3 ounces Kahlua or other coffee flavored liqueur
2 cups crushed ice
1 ounce chocolate liqueur
1 ounce vanilla vodka
Ground coffee beans
Add ingredients to a blender and blend. Top with whipped cream and ground coffee beans! Sprinkles are optional (not surprisingly, our dad requested his without!)
We were thrilled when Taylor Sterling of Sterling Style asked us to make a cocktail for her fabulously sparkly new lifestyle site Glitter Guide! With a name like that we couldn't wait to get started on the project, and it seemed that the possibilities were endless! We finally decided on a fresh, fun and bubbly concoction that you are sure to enjoy...
2 ounces white chocolate
Sprinkles and/or edible glitter (we like to mix them together!)
In a food processor combine strawberries, Vanilla Simple Syrup and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Prepare garnish by melting white chocolate and dipping rim of champagne glasses into it. Then dip glasses into a plate of sprinkles and/or edible glitter. Add 1 ounce of strawberry mixture to each champagne glass and top off with champagne!
Vanilla Simple Syrup
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
1 whole vanilla bean (using just the seeds that have been scraped out)
Combine water, sugar, vanilla bean and seeds in a medium saucepan. Boil until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently. Let sit for at least one hour. Let cool, strain and store in refrigerator.
Now let's all raise our glasses and toast to Taylor and her whole team! Cheers!
Frolicking in glitter, dripping in jewels, and twirling in over-the-top girlie dresses is how we spent the weekend as we filmed our new Fashionably Bombed show intro! Special thanks to Enrique from the No Network, Adrina for our spectacular 'dos, and to our fabulous new intern, Nicole, for snapping these festive "Behind the Scenes" photos! Stay tuned for much more outrageous fabulosity...
We've been blogging for almost a year now, and if you know anything about us, you know that we heart two things in this world: bubble gum and mojitos!!! So in a fit of mixology madness we threw the two together in our cocktail lab and came up with a mighty tasty summertime drink! It may sound crazy, but TRUST US, it's wildly delicious!!!
Bubble Gum Mojito
3 ounces Bubble Gum-Infused Vodka
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice
1 ounce simple syrup
10 mint leaves
A dash of grenadine (for color)
Combine lime juice, simple syrup, and mint leaves in a highball glass and muddle ingredients together. Then add Bubble Gum-Infused Vodka and stir. Add crushed ice and top off with club soda and a dash of grenadine.
Bubble Gum-Infused Vodka
Makes 1 cup
10 pieces of Double Bubble Bubble Gum
1 cup vodka
Roughly chop gum and place into a jar with a lid. Add vodka and cover. Let sit for at least 24 hours. Shake before using.
