Spring-tini

Spring is here and we couldn't be happier!!!  Actually, we'll be happier once summer is here because then we can start rocking out to our favorite 80's summer-themed songs like Summer Girls by this dashing fellow in his sexy floral-print vest:

But on a far more sophisticated note, we would like to thank the lovely gourmet French company Monin, who recently sent us a bottle of their amazingly tasty and beautiful Violet syrup!  The possibilities for this syrup are endless, but to kick off the season we wanted something simple and fresh!  This cocktail creation is perfect for spring, and it's even more perfect if you still have some lemons left on your backyard tree!  And who could forget our last lemon-picking adventure?

2 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ ounce violet syrup
Crushed ice

You made it through the winter, and for that you deserve a cocktail!

I Pity the Blueberry Fool!

April Fools' Day may be over, but this dessert cocktail is delicious ANY day of the year!

I Pity the Blueberry Fool

Makes 2

Blueberry Compote:

1 cup Blueberries
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon lemon zest
2 tablespoons sugar
2 oz. blackcurrant liquor
A few fresh blueberries for garnish

In a small pan add blueberries, lemon juice, lemon zest and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until blueberries have broken down and compote becomes a thick liquid (about 5 minutes). Let the liquid cool down by putting the bottom of the pan in a bowl of ice. When the blueberry compote has has cooled completely, add blackcurrant liqueur.

Whipping Cream:

1 cup whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons of sugar (or to taste)
1 oz. vanilla vodka

To a mixing bowl add whipping cream, vanilla extract and sugar. Whip the cream until it forms stiff peaks (but not too much, you don't want to make butter!) Once it's ready, gently fold in the vanilla vodka.

Finally, fold the majority of the blueberry compote into the whipping cream mixture, reserving a couple of tablespoons. Spoon into two cocktail glasses and garnish with the remaining blueberry compote and a few fresh blueberries.

Little Big Foot's Revenge

Happy Friday!  Good things are in store for you here at Fashionably Bombed!  Not only do we have a HIGH-larious new video for you, but we're also showing you how to make an alcoholic dessert in honor of April Fools' Day!  SWEET!  Literally!

But first we must refresh your memory... Remember our Thanksgiving episode where UPS driver Little Big Foot suggests that it might be just a tad bit offensive to run around in our Native American "costumes", and then we get caught Larry David-style wearing them anyway?

Well never fear, Little Big Foot is back and he's getting his revenge on!
