Tangerine Margarita

As you well know, we absolutely LOVE margaritas, any time of year!  This one is perfect for winter because it incorporates tangerines, which are growing all over the place right now, and cloves, a classic holiday flavor!

Tangerine Margarita
Makes 4

¾ cup tequila
½ cup freshly squeezed tangerine juice
½ cup freshly squeezed lime juice
½ cup + 2 tablespoons Clove-Infused Simple Syrup
1 teaspoon freshly grated tangerine rind + more for garnish
Ice

Add all ingredients to blender. Blend. Add enough ice to make slushy. Garnish by grating tangerine rind over each glass. Enjoy!

Clove-Infused Simple Syrup
½ cup water
½ cup sugar
15 cloves

Combine water, sugar and cloves in a medium saucepan. Boil until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently. Let sit for at least one hour. Let cool, strain and store in refrigerator.

  2. I "like" Lilly Pulitzer and Fashionably Bombed on Facebook. One of my favorite holiday traditions is baking, icing, and decorating sugar cookies with my sisters and brother. We would open a bottle of champagne while decorating and when we were finished the reindeer, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and elves would end up anatomically correct! Naughty or nice?

  3. My favorite holiday tradition is on Christmas eve. We typically spend it with a specific group of family friends, but before we head to bed, we turn the fire on, some Carpenter's Christmas music, and enjoy and eggnog. It's just my family and me. It makes you count your blessings and appreciate what you have around you.

  4. Every year we go to my Aunt's house for a Christmas Eve party with the family. Around 715-730 pm every year you will hear jingle bells coming up the driveway. All the kids would shout and cheer cause Santa Claus is here. He would come in and we have a sofa chair for him to sit in. We would all get in a line to sit on his lap (and take thousands of family photos) and he would give us chocolate and coloring books. This Santa has been doing this for 22 years now. He has been around since I was a newborn. He is the best Santa Ever!! This year my aunt hired a new santa bc the other one was having major health issues. But its still great we are able to find someone to keep the tradition going for my new baby cousin!!

I love this necklace and it will make a nice present to go with making deans list!!

  5. My other favorite holiday tradition is to have Maryland crab cakes on Christmas Eve, with my best friend, kids and hubby. She helps with the wrapping and help her finish the wine from dinner.

  11. So a new family tradition I get to be a part is helping make tamales with my new extended family :) I am excited about learning to make them and getting the chance to eat them.

We will absolutely be trying the Tangerine Margarita recipe this weekend, apparently nothing goes better with making tamales than drinking Tequila :)

Thanks for the idea girls! Happy Holidays!

    Thanks, Liz

  12. Every Christmas Eve on my Mom's side of the family, cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles all open our presents to each other. Even though Christmas is the next day it's still exciting to get to open presents a night early!

  13. (Liked both!) I just LOVE new margarita recipes!!! My favorite tradition is all of it...ALL of the craziness, traditions, family and friends, mass, fattening things to make. Every year I say that I'm going to ease up or cut back, but then it wouldn't be Christmas;) And hopefully my friends like New Years cards, since I rarely get mine out before Christmas! And the only thing better this year, would be to be the new owner of this FABULOUS necklace- Lilly AND drinks?? Did they make it just for me? ;) <3 this blog!!

  14. Ever since I was a little girl, I was always the last one to wake up for Christmas (I need my beauty sleep)! So every year, my family would have to wait on the stairs for me to get there. We always take a picture of the three girls on the stairs waiting to open presents. We have a continuous album with all the pictures from each Christmas.

Also I liked Fashionably Bombed and Lilly Pulitzer on Facebook.

    Hope I win!
