  1. My favorite holiday tradition is making white russians on Christmas eve after we go to mass! It is the perfect way to get everyone in the Christmas spirit!

  2. We open presents after midnight - so 12:15am on Christmas day we are screaming names and passing gifts around - this year I am spending Christmas with my husband's family in CT and they open presents Christmas morning like any normal family, so we will be connected through skype with my family in FL at midnight to join the fun!

  3. My favorite Holiday tradition is by far all the events with my family. My BF and I now switch holidays each year, but when I'm home, we always spend Christmas eve with the same families and Christmas day with the same families. It's just how it's been for as long as I can remember! This year I'll be away from them, and I miss them terribly!

  4. My favorite tradition was when my mom, I mean Santa, always puts an orange and an apple in my stocking :) It included candy and presents also, but I always remember the fruit :)

  5. My favorite holiday tradition is getting all glitzed up and getting festive cocktails at the Oak Room in Boston with the girls the week before Christmas. We have done it the past 9 years!

  6. One of my favorite traditions was hitching up one of the feed teams and going up to cut a fresh Christmas tree. If there was snow we would take a hay sled and if not the feed wagon. Our drink of choice was warmed pineapple juice and Yukon Jack. It would help fend off the snow snakes.

  7. My favorite holiday tradition is putting up our real tree and decorating it. Not only do we put up our tree but we enjoy shrimp cocktail and champagne while we do it. Yumm!

  9. My favorite holiday tradition is decorating the tree. My family all still gets together at my parents house to decorate their tree, with my mother orchestrating the entire thing. It's so nice to be able to get together before the holiday and get in the Christmas spirit. xo, LP

  10. My family does the 12 days of Christmas every year! Everyone in the family opens one gift every day from the 14th until the 25th! Each day we have a new theme, and today we are making creative Holiday mocktails and cocktails together! How appropriate! ;)

  12. My favorite holiday tradition since I was little has been making tamales with my Mom and sisters on Christmas Eve. As we have grown older our tamales making has increased and they are given away to family and friends for the holidays.

  13. Every year we go to my Aunt's house for a Christmas Eve party with the family. Around 715-730 pm every year you will hear jingle bells coming up the driveway. All the kids would shout and cheer cause Santa Claus is here. He would come in and we have a sofa chair for him to sit in. We would all get in a line to sit on his lap (and take thousands of family photos) and he would give us chocolate and coloring books. This Santa has been doing this for 22 years now. He has been around since I was a newborn. He is the best Santa Ever!! This year my aunt hired a new santa bc the other one was having major health issues. But its still great we are able to find someone to keep the tradition going for my new baby cousin!!

  15. More important than the gifts...I most enjoy cooking Christmas breakfast with my grandmother (a retired chef of 45 years) and learning her secrets and life wisdom!

  16. My best friend's little sister came up with the 55 days of Christmas last year, so we can start celebrating on November 1st! It makes the holidays so wonderful and it's our new family tradition :) I also love Christmas Morning Mimosas with family!!!!

  17. My favorite holiday tradition is opening a door on the advent calendar each night with my daughter. I also love to have a big breakfast on Christmas morning with mimosas! We moved to FL and I think this year we need to add your Samgaria recipe to the Christmas menu!

  19. My favorite tradition is our advent calendar! Mom and I made a one together when I was a kid- a felt background with a felt tree and 24 felt ornaments to hang- all decorated with sequins and glass beads! Once I got out of school and had my own house, I made my own.

  20. In my family, we have two Christmases. On Christmas Eve, we celebrate with my mothers side at our lake house up north. Thats when the big guns come out. Its a small get together, but everyone goes all out. We wear goofy Christmas sweaters, drink fancy cocktails (The Thin Mint-ini would be perfect!) and eat a Christmas diner of Roast Beef and other garnishes. After dinner, we gather in "The Christmas Room" (yes, that is what the room is REALLY called. Its decorated with skis', mini pine trees and other rustic things that make the room look like its's always Christmas) and swap our gifts. After that we usually watch a Christmas movie like Elf or Miracle on 34th Street. The next morning we wake up, go to church, open the presents from Santa and than go to my father's side for our other Christmas. This party is always huge (my dad was 1 of 9 children!). Here we enjoy each other's company and exchange small stocking stuffers because there are so many of us. Later my grandfather comes in carrying a HUGE Fleet Farm bag full of school supplies. Its totally goofy and weird but hey, its our family tradition!

  22. my favorite tradition is the holiday baking and cooking-- my mom has always had a system for the holidays and I continue that today! I also recently started my own tradition of making all the dogs in the family their own dog treats instead of buying overpriced ones at the store :-)

  25. My favorite tradition is hiding the pickle on the Christmas tree! That's right I said hiding a pickle. I have a pickle ornament that I hide somewhere on the tree on Christmas Eve. The first person to find it is allowed to open a present! It is so much fun!

  26. Growing up as an only child, my mom tended to spoil me. So every Christmas Eve we would go to church and then when we got home, I was able to open up one gift! Then the next morning by the time everyone got up, we would go out to the living room and sit by the tree to open up presents. The ham would already be home and cookies were made making the house smell divine! I can't wait to pass on these traditions one day

  27. My favorite holiday tradition is watching our dogs get into their stockings on Christmas Eve. When we get home from church, my husband makes us White Christmases. SO YUMMY!!!! Then the fun begins. Each dog(we have 3) has their own stocking filled with new toys and snacks. We get the stockings off of the mantle and they start going nuts! They get sooo excited!!! We then put them on the floor and they go to town getting their new toys out and playing. They make a mess but we love to see them excited and happy.

  29. My favorite holiday tradition is finding an ANGEL tree at church or the mall and picking a "Minnie" off of it so I can shop for a little girl and make her Christmas dreams come true. I love my boys, but they don't love a purse or pink and don't appreciate a good shoe like a girl does.

  32. My favorite tradition is the hunt for the Pickle on Christmas morning! Every Christmas Eve Santa hides a glass Pickle ornament in the Christmas tree and the first person to find it in the morning gets an extra present! My sister and I have been competing to find the Pickle as quick as we can since we were little and now that we're grown, nothing has changed!

  34. Every year on Christmas Eve my Mom's entire side of the family gets together for dinner and a gift exchange. The younger children open presents first and then the adults have a "White Elephant" gift exchange where everyone draws a number and chooses a gift in that order. On your turn, you can either open a new gift or "steal" one from someone else. The trick is that each gift can only be stolen twice. It is always such a fun time together and laughing all night with my family reminds me of what is truly important during the holiday season -- each other.

Oh, and I "like" both Lilly Pulitzer and Fashionably Bombed on Facebook!

Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  37. Awesome giveaway! I liked both pages on Facebook (Lori Wilson Driver). My favorite Christmas tradition is watching the Home Alone movies with my husband - we only watch the first and second ones. And I love Home Alone II the best - it's my dream to wake up one Christmas morning in a swanky hotel in Manhattan with snow falling. :-)
    Merry Christmas, everyone! XOXO

  38. One of my favorite Christmas tradition is baking cookies with my family. My grandmother passed away when my sisters and I were younger, but still to this day we use her family recipes - it's a way to keep her around still. We also use all of her amazing holiday cookie cutters - nativity set ones included (although it's a little weird eating a cookie shaped like baby Jesus).

  39. I liked them both! (My name is Brooke Jeter) and I have many favorite traditions but my ABSOLUTE favorite is going to Midnight Mass with my family...which is magical and so wonderful, and then walking outside to Christmas, often with snow flurries... It is such an incredibly magical feeling. We listen to classical Christmas music on our drive home and feel overtaken by the spirit of the day!!

  40. My favorite tradition is all of it...ALL of the craziness, traditions, family and friends, mass, fattening things to make (and btw those truffles like to die for!). Every year I say that I'm going to ease up or cut back, but then it wouldn't be Christmas;) And hopefully my friends like New Years cards, since I rarely get mine out before Christmas! And the only thing better this year, would be to be the new owner of this FABULOUS necklace- Lilly AND drinks?? Did they make it just for me? ;)
