But on a far more sophisticated note, we would like to thank the lovely gourmet French company Monin, who recently sent us a bottle of their amazingly tasty and beautiful Violet syrup! The possibilities for this syrup are endless, but to kick off the season we wanted something simple and fresh! This cocktail creation is perfect for spring, and it's even more perfect if you still have some lemons left on your backyard tree! And who could forget our last lemon-picking adventure?

2 ounces vodka
2 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ ounce violet syrup
Add vodka, lemon juice and violet syrup to a shaker with crushed ice and shake vigorously until a frost forms on the outside of the shaker. Strain into a martini glass and enjoy!
