Christmas Cocktail #12- Spiked Mexican Hot Chocolate

WE DID IT!!!!  Christmas Cocktail #12 is finally here, and the 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails are complete!  We hope you enjoyed them!  We'd love to hear which cocktails you tried and how they turned out!

So by now you know us well enough to know that we couldn't create 12 original cocktails without including something Mexican!  So we created our own Fashionably Bombed version of Mexican Hot Chocolate, and HOT DAMN is it chiloso!

Mexican Hot Chocolate

Makes 2

1 ounce high quality unsweetened chocolate (we used Scharfenberger chocolate for this recipe)
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons brown sugar
¼ vanilla bean (seeds scraped out)
Pinch of salt
¼ teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons chocolate liqueur
2 tablespoons dark rum
1 tablespoon Original Cinn schnapps
Whipping cream
Ground cinnamon

Roughly chop chocolate and add to a saucepan.  Stirring constantly, add milk, brown sugar, vanilla bean seeds, salt, chili pepper flakes and cinnamon stick and bring to a boil.  Once chocolate is melted remove from heat and stir in rum, cinnamon schnapps and chocolate liqueur.  Garnish with whipped cream and a dusting of ground cinnamon.

Now what does one wear while disfrutando Mexican Hot Chocolate?  We got our fashion inspiration from our favorite Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo!

!Feliz Navidad!
