Fashionably Bombed Moroccan Mojito

Since Katherine's latest obsession is rose water, and since our first Fashionably Bombed cocktail was the Mojito, AND since we've both traveled to Morocco, it was very exciting when we happened to stumble upon an intriguing recipe for Moroccan Mojitos in an old issue of Bon Appetit!  The rose water and cardamom additions make these Mojitos both exotic and delicious, so whip up a batch already!

Moroccan Mojito (Adapted from Bon Appétit ):

Makes 1

10 mint sprigs
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon lime juice
1-2 cardamom pods
1 Tablespoon light rum
1 Tablespoon dark rum
1 teaspoon triple sec
4-5 drops rose water ( Nielsen-Massey Rose Water has a great flavor and the label is so pretty!)
Crushed ice
Club soda

Using a muddler, mash mint leaves, sugar and lime juice in a glass.  Remove cardamom seeds from pods & crush into a fine powder using a mortar & pestle and add to glass.  Next add light and dark rums, triple sec and rose water. Stir, then fill glass with crushed ice and top with club soda.  Garnish with a rose!

  1. Hey ladies!

This is a lovely blog. I'm totally into the fashion/cocktail tie-in. I'm intrigued by this Moroccan Mojito recipe. I think if I were making it I would substitute the sugar for brown sugar and the triple sec for cointreau (I've never been a huge fan of triple sec). You two are honorary members of the 2nd Greatest Generation!

  2. Thanks! We will definitely give those alternate ingredients a try! Love your blog, by the way!
